Task:
During the next week and over the weekend, your group will be creating a piece of propaganda. The class has been broken up into 9 groups of 3. Each group member is responsible for an equal amount of participation. A portion of class time during the next week will be used to acquire the research in order to complete the project.
Your assignment is to create a political propaganda piece based during World War II. Each group has been assigned the leader they will be representing. The leaders are: Winston Churchill, Franklin Delano Roosevelt, Emperor Hirohito, Adolf Hitler, Benito Mussolini, Joseph Stalin, Douglas MacArthur, Dwight Eisenhower, and Heinrich Himmler. Your goal is to grab the attention of the class and have them either rooting for or against your leader. Your presentation should be between 7 to 10 minutes long,
including 2 minutes for questions.
Each presentation must contain at least five true facts about their leader’s views, opinions, or actions during World War II. They must spin these facts into propaganda either in favor or against their particular leader.
After the propaganda pieces have been presented to the class, each individual will have to write a one to two page summary on another group's presentation. I would like you to answer the following questions.
Were you moved by the presentation?
Did it change your previous point of view on that particular person?
What could they have done differently to capture your attention?
What did you learn?
